Gina Escalante has joined HNTB Corporation as transportation planning department manager, based in the firm’s downtown Los Angeles office. Her duties include coordinating project priorities, staffing schedules and staff assignments to ensure clients are provided the best planning capabilities to meet their specific needs.
“Gina’s extensive experience, including her key role in Southern California transit corridors, will be an asset to HNTB as we continue to grow our regional rail planning services,” said Steven Greene, HNTB transportation planning group director and associate vice president. “We look forward to her leading and managing a wide range of transportation planning and transit corridor projects for our Southern California clients.”
Escalante has over 14 years of experience in transportation planning in the greater Los Angeles area. Her project experience includes planning duties for the West Santa Ana Branch Transit Corridor, the Beverly Hills Complete Streets Plan, the Metro G (Orange) Line Speed Evaluation Study, the Metro G (Orange) Line Grade Separation Feasibility Study, and the Wilshire Boulevard Bus Rapid Transit Project. Prior to joining HNTB, she worked with other infrastructure firms on projects for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and several local cities.
Escalante received a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental policy analysis and planning from University of California, Davis, and holds certifications in both Geographic Information Systems and Transportation Management.
