Pasadena
Shepherd’s Door was created 18 years ago as a response to the ever- present need for servicing victims of domestic abuse in Pasadena and throughout Los Angeles County. Founder and Executive director Linda Offray saw the need to have supportive services and educational resources for victims and families experiencing domestic violence. This topic hit home for Offray when her oldest daughter Tunisia Offray became a victim of teen dating violence in high school.
Linda noticed there was a significant lack of resources and support to help her daughter. Feeling helpless and frustrated, Linda took matters into her own hands and created Shepherd’s Door Domestic Violence Resource and Educational Center in March of 2000. Later, Linda’s daughters and family joined her efforts to bring awareness and education to this huge epidemic. In 2018 alone Shepherd’s Door serviced 1824 victims and families.
