Santa Monica
The Albright, a 42 year old family business on the Santa Monica Pier, opened in 1977 as Santa Monica Pier Seafood. Yunnie Morena and her husband Greg took the helm of the Pier mainstay in 2014, which is now the longest running restaurant on The Pier. Leaning on experience and recruiting friends (Bobby Hundreds & Dave Alverez) from their fashion careers they rebranded as The Albright, a nautical knot, symbolizing tying together two generations of local, family operators. Growing up on the Pier and in the kitchen, Yunnie reimagined the current menu with a commitment to sustainably caught seafood, locally sourced ingredients (Santa Monica Farmers Markets) and an extensive craft beer and California wine list.
The Albright has won numerous sustainability awards and just last year pioneered an organics recycling program for all restaurants on the pier. The program is on track to save one half million pounds of organic waste from ending up in landfills in 2019. The Albright is also a proud supporter of local schools, charities and non-profit organizations.
