Dr. Saar Danon recently conducted MCWHLB’s 10th PDA device closure in premature babies with the piccolo device (the device is a size of a pea) and is the best intervention for babies with PCA who are extremely low birth weight. He brings a level of expertise and compassion to the Children’s Heart Institute like nobody else. He was also instrumental in Miller Children’s & Women’s partnering with the World Pediatric Project, a non-profit that brings patients from the Caribbean for heart surgery. Dr. Danon’s research focuses on developing new devices and techniques to increase the number of children that can be treated with cardiac catheterization procedures.
