Raynald Samoa, M.D., is an endocrinologist at City of Hope, specializing in diabetes, thyroid diseases and pediatric endocrinology; he also serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism and as the interim fellowship program site director. In the time of COVID-19, Dr. Samoa added another position to his crowded schedule, that of clinical lead for the National Pacific Islander COVID-19 Response Team. As a result of his tireless advocacy, including testimony before Congress, in December 2021 Dr. Samoa was named a commissioner to the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders.
