2021 was a remarkable year for McGuireWoods partner Tanya Greene. As part of a pro bono team serving as co-counsel in a multiplaintiff lawsuit, she helped challenge practices by the City of Los Angeles related to the confiscation and disposal of homeless individuals’ belongings. On Sept. 2, 2021, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit affirmed a U.S. District Court ruling granting a preliminary injunction ordering the City to stop enforcing an ordinance provision that allowed the City to seize and destroy the belongings based on the size of the item without giving adequate notice to the item’s owner.
She also works on high-profile, complex litigation for some of the most prominent corporations in the world. Her experience includes managing consumer class actions and complex multiplaintiff litigation for Fortune 100 clients in heavily regulated industries, including finance, technology, aerospace and petroleum.
