Partner and U.S. Regional Divisional Leader

Michael Brophy is a partner in Withersworldwide’s trust, estate and inheritance disputes team and is the regional divisional leader of the firm’s US Private Client & Tax (PCT) division, co-led with William Kambas, a tax partner based on the East Coast. In this role, Brophy has been supporting the US PCT division of more than 110 lawyers across nine offices in a remote working environment, including contributing to the firm’s Global Virus Committee and serving as the West Coast contact partner for COVID-19 safety issues.
Brophy’s ability to adapt quickly and efficiently allowed the team to continue to see growth during the pandemic. He is also a member of the firm’s Recruitment Committee, where his contributions include actively participating in diversity initiatives at law schools and in diversity mentoring programs. He has extensive experience representing prominent individuals, families, charities, corporate trustees, private professional fiduciaries, and creditors in high-stakes litigation.
