Alicia Hou joined Akerman, LLP in 2021, and is a litigation partner. She brings a decade of experience representing U.S. and international companies, as well as financial institutions in a wide variety of legal disputes. Hou focuses her practice on financial institutions commercial litigation, real estate litigation, and insurance litigation. Her work encompasses numerous sectors including, franchise and licensing, corporate governance and partnership disputes, intellectual property, trade secret, and non-compete litigation, and cross-border and multi-jurisdiction litigation.
Hou also has extensive experience advocating for the rights of her clients from anticipated litigation through arbitration and trial, assisting with appeals, and advising on best methods for dispute resolution. She also provides routine counsel to U.S. companies looking to expand their footprint in China or Taiwan, as well as to Chinese and Taiwanese companies with litigation issues in the U.S.
