General counsel and boards of directors call on Aaron Lewis to conduct their most sensitive internal investigations and to defend their businesses and senior executives in their most serious enforcement matters. A founding member of Covington’s Los Angeles office and Vice Chair of the firm’s White Collar Defense and Investigations practice, Lewis returned to Covington in 2015 after six years of service in the Department of Justice, first as counsel to Attorney General Eric Holder and later as an Assistant United States Attorney in Los Angeles.
Among Lewis’ recent success has been his work as a co-leader of Covington lawyers that evaluated Starbucks’ ongoing efforts to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion and published its third report in March 2021. As part of this assessment, Covington developed a set of recommendations to strengthen the company’s existing programs, policies, and initiatives.
