Thomas Hill is a highly accomplished national class action defense attorney, and a skilled trial and appellate lawyer. He has served as lead counsel for some of the largest employers in the country, and done so in more than 600 civil lawsuits filed in 30 states. Hill has also first-chaired more than 250 adversarial proceedings to decision, including jury, bench and administrative trials, as well as private arbitration. Hill recently secured a significant U.S. District Court victory for NCR Corporation in a nationwide collective action for unpaid overtime under the federal FLSA. Thanks to Hill and the Holland & Knight team’s efforts, the U.S. District Court granted NCR’s motion for decertification of a collective of more than 1,600 opt-in plaintiffs. It is estimated that the combined overtime claims of the 1,600-plus opt-in plaintiffs who were dismissed from the suit posed aggregate potential liabilities to NCR of more than $75 million.
