Since joining the firm in 1981 after serving as an assistant U.S. attorney in Los Angeles, Brian’s unwavering focus on understanding his clients’ businesses has established him as one of the leading trial lawyers in the country. He recently represented PG&E, as lead trial counsel, in the multibillion-dollar case that was set for trial in San Francisco in January 2020 – which settled two weeks before trial. He also served as lead counsel in all criminal investigations arising from the massive 2017 and 2018 wildfires in Northern California, and just recently negotiated the plea agreement that ended those investigations.
