Dan McMillan is the co-leader of Jones Day’s global construction practice. He is recognized as a leader in the construction industry by Fortune 500 project owners, contractors, design professionals and public entities who turn to him for his advice on the largest, most complex, and most challenging and unique projects located in California, throughout the United States, and across the globe. He served as the lead trial lawyer representing the Transbay Joint Power Authority in the Millennium Tower litigation, one of the highest-profile construction cases in the United States. McMillan was instrumental in structuring and implementing a creative and extended mediation process leading to successful resolution of the case, the funding of a retrofit of the tower, and dismissal of the litigation in November 2020. McMillan also served as lead trial counsel for LA Metro in one of its most important cases, successfully defeating a challenge to Measure M.
