As a founding member of Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Los Angeles office, Partner Christopher Pisano represents public agencies and private corporations in a variety of litigation matters. Over the last year, he represented many California public agencies in pandemic-related litigation, from “Hero Pay” ordinances to business shut-down and restriction orders to jail inmate rights. Already a leader in the State on public law disputes, Pisano is now breaking new legal ground in successfully defending local agencies to address the health, safety and economic crises their communities are facing. He led the BB&K litigation team that was first in the nation to successfully defend a city’s ordinance requiring grocery workers to receive fair compensation for providing essential services during the pandemic. His success for Long Beach buoyed other cities, including West Hollywood and Coachella, which asked Pisano to defend their “Hero Pay” ordinances.
