As Managing Director, Chairman and Founding Principal of Intrepid Investment Bankers, Jim Freedman has been an entrepreneur and founder of two highly-successful investment banks in a career spanning more than 35 years. He founded Barrington Associates in 1982, the predecessor firm to Intrepid, which was subsequently sold to Wells Fargo Securities in 2006.
Over the decades, Freedman has advised numerous middle-market companies in the areas of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate valuation, and strategic decisions. In addition, he has acted as the principal financial advisor in hundreds of capital raisings and mergers and acquisitions transactions ranging in value from $20 million to more than $1 billion. Among his most recent notable transactions include the $1.075 billion sale of leading manufacturer of kitchen and bath cabinetry and home storage products RSI Home Products to American Woodmark Corporation. He also oversaw the sale of a leading designer and manufacturer of safety wear M.L. Kishigo to Bunzl plc, an international distribution and outsourcing group that is active in 30 countries.
