Avygail L. Sanchez brings over 20 years of experience in facilitating leadership development programs and project coordination in the areas of government and community engagement & advocacy, multi-agency coordination, and community planning. Her experience includes AB939 annual reporting, solid waste management, and CEQA document preparation. Avygail has served in the public sector as council staff for the City of Los Angeles and is well adept with the city, state, and federal agencies and functions. She is a former instructor of leadership studies at Mount St. Mary's University in Los Angeles.


Avygail has worked for three major, global Architecture and Engineering firms specializing on the delivery of multibillion dollar infrastructure projects with diverse funding sources while designing and building to LEED and Envision standards as required, incorporating the use of P3s, and the application of adjacent technologies to address regional mobility, connectivity, and security challenges. 


Her expertise in the development and implementation of regional business plans, client relationships management, and ability to weave together comprehensive, strategic plans has resulted in wins, increased KPI’s, and ROI’s for her teams. 


Her policy and community engagement efforts have been focused on emerging communities and small business procurement opportunities as well as training programs. Avygail recently served as a corporate-level policy advisor and as a liaison to the Republican Governors Association (RGA), Democratic Governors Association (DGA), and the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM).


She was appointed the USCM Steering Committee during her time as member of the Mayors Business Council. Previously, she served on the Historic Preservation and Planning Commissions for the City of Huntington Park and was appointed Chair of the Planning Commission shortly after beginning her service. 


She earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles in 2001 and her Master’s in Urban Planning from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs in 2004.
