The first Gilbert Ortega gallery was founded in 1950 by fourth-generation trader Gilbert Ortega Sr. Since then, Gilbert Ortega Jr. has been trading and selling different types of Native American art. This year will mark his 60th Anniversary doing so. And if 60 years in downtown Scottsdale doesn’t speak volumes to the reputation and experience that both locals and travelers alike enjoy, one visit to the unique and special place will cement it’s memory in your mind.
Today, Gilbert Ortega Jr. runs the day-to-day operations. He also oversees the purchase of every item that is sold in his Main Street Gallery. He believes that every piece represents its own art that goes far beyond the item itself, but also to the core of its spiritual being. Gilbert, as well as his friendly and knowledgeable staff, invite you to visit the “Original Gilbert Ortega Gallery” which is located at the corner of Main Street and Scottsdale Road. Experience “what the Ortega family has spent a lifetime learning for you.”
