Tchienyonnoh Katuri Kaye of Tucker Huss (an ERISA and employee benefits firm) focuses her practice primarily on qualified retirement plans, including defined benefit and defined contribution plans, and plans of tax exempt entities and public schools and universities, including 403(b) and 457 plans.
Kaye counsels clients on the design and tax-qualification of retirement plans and the taxation of employee benefits. In addition, she assists clients with drafting plan documents, SPDs and plan amendments; analyzing plan administrative issues; service provider and investment management agreement reviews; reviewing and drafting QDROs; preparing IRS and DOL submissions; and resolving questions regarding compliance with ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code.
Kaye is a child of immigrant parents who journeyed to the U.S. in the 1980s from West Africa. Growing up, Kaye watched her parents devote 100% of their time, resources and energy to make sure that she and her siblings could live the “American Dream.” To pay this forward, she started her own non-profit, The TKK Program, Inc. in 2012 to bridge the gap for those at-risk youth and underprivileged communities. Through her work under The TKK Program, Kaye strives daily to make a powerful difference in her greater community. Her efforts include providing college application fee assistance to high school seniors; providing book, fees and tuition scholarships; providing educational training; providing financial training; providing access to the arts, dance, drama and other life enriching experiences; and providing mentorship and support to teenage parents – all funded, operated and administered by Kaye.
