DAN NABEL
Principal Counsel
Riot Games
Dan Nabel is principal counsel and an in-house attorney at Riot Games, a leading video game developer and esports tournament organizer based in West Los Angeles and best known for League of Legends, a multiplayer online battle arena game. As principal counsel at Riot Games, Nabel oversees intellectual property matters for the company’s wildly popular product line.
Given his fluency in video game law, it is no wonder Nabel’s success tracks that of his employer. A testament to Nabel’s stature in the gaming space, he co-authored “Video Game Law in a Nutshell,” a book published by West Academic Publishing that guides readers through a video game’s entire legal life cycle. In addition, he teaches “Topics in Entertainment: Video Game Law” at the USC Gould School of Law, and formerly served as the interim director of the Intellectual Property & Technology Law Clinic at the law school.
