THE LATEST: Mezger helped develop KB Homes’ strategy to focus on energy-efficient and environmentally conscious home designs. The company recently launched a new initiative called KB Home ProjeKt: Where Tomorrow Lives, which seeks to create homes that incorporate new technology, sustainability, efficiency and wellness in their design.
BACKGROUND: Since joining KB Homes in 1993, Mezger has steadily risen through the ranks at the homebuilding company. He was named chairman in 2016. A graduate of DePauw University, Mezger was the founding chair of the Leading Builders of America and is an advisory board member of the Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics at UC Berkeley.
WORTH NOTING: Mezger was inducted into the California Homebuilding Hall of Fame in 2012.
