USC's Marshall School of Business has received a $20 million gift to expand its global supply chain management program.
The school announced the donation, the third-largest in Marshall's 100-year history, on July 7.
The gift comes from alumnus Randall R. Kendrick, chief executive of Seal Beach-based Xebec Realty Partners Inc., and will be used to establish the Randall R. Kendrick Global Supply Chain Institute.
“Randy’s transformative gift is a tremendous vote of confidence in the quality of Marshall’s global supply chain program and will turbocharge its future,” Marshall Dean Geoffrey Garrett said in the announcement. “As the Covid pandemic has underscored, supply chains are at the very core of the contemporary global economy. With Randy’s visionary support, our goal at Marshall is to be the world leader in this crucial sector.”
The donation will create an endowment for the institute’s director and establish a new faculty chair and faculty fellows in supply chain management.
It will also fund scholarships and research assistant positions and grow the program's student base, doubling the number of candidates it enrolls annually. The Marshall School currently accepts 10 to 12 progressive degree undergraduates each year.
Kendrick founded Xebec Realty in 1996. He attributed his success to the skills he learned at Marshall.
“I benefited from the generosity of other Trojans who preceded me at USC and served as mentors throughout my personal and professional life,” Kendrick said in the announcement.
