Described as “fearless” by her clients, Jeanne Fugate does not shy from the tough cases and achieves outstanding results on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants, nimbly pivoting between the two diametrically opposed sides. Having worked as a professional journalist before attending law school, she excels at TROs, ex partes, and trial work. Her commitment goes beyond the courtroom as well, as she is actively involved in several organizations that serve Los Angeles and the state of California.
Fugate has served as a commissioner on the Los Angeles City Board of Civil Service Commissioners since 2014, and just completed a two-year term as president. The five-member board hears appeals of City employees who have been disciplined and approves personnel policy and procedures. In addition, last year she conducted a training for civil service hearing examiners, who make recommendations to the board, to provide guidance as to how to improve their reports.
