THE LATEST: More than 10 years after the opening of L.A. Live, one of Anschutz Entertainment Group’s flagship properties, Beckerman continues to grow the company’s live entertainment business. AEG is a global conglomerate that owns, operates or is affiliated with more than 150 venues around the world and annually entertains more than 100 million guests. Beckerman has resisted taking the company public and recently said that while AEG might not be “recession resistant,” it is largely insulated from economic ups and downs.
BACKGROUND: In addition to heading AEG’s facilities, sports, global partnerships and digital divisions, Beckerman is responsible for financial oversight, planning and debt financing for the company’s real estate projects, representing global investments of more than $5 billion. Beckerman previously spent 16 years as chief operating officer and chief financial officer for AEG.
