MNX Global Acquires Global First

Long Beach-based MNX Global Logistics has acquired New York-based Global First, a specialty transportation provider, the company said May 6. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

MNX — a transportation company specializing in moving high-value goods for the biopharmaceutical, medical, aviation and entertainment industries — has more than 600 stocking locations. MNX had been working with Global First for two years, collaborating on “high-touch” logistics services.

The move came less than a week after MNX appointed veteran logistics executive John Labrie as chief executive and president. Prior to his appointment, Labrie headed up Network Global Logistics, a division of the company.

Boston-based Audax Private Equity acquired MNX Global Logistics from the Riverside Co. in July. In a statement, MNX said it was planning to continue pursuing acquisitions in the global logistics market.
