The county of Los Angeles welcomed a record number of visitors for the seventh year in a row, hosting 48.3 million visitors last year, the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board announced Jan. 10.

The number of visitors increased by 1 million or 2.2 percent over last year, the board said in a press release.

The board said the county is still on track to reach its goal of 50 million visitors by 2020.
