Kathryn Schloessman

President, Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission

Founded in 1995, the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission partners with the city of Los Angeles to bring major sporting and entertainment events such as the NBA All-Star Weekend, Grammy Awards, and College Football Playoffs to the city. As president, Kathy Schloessman oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of the commission. Prior to joining the commission, Schloessman was a 13-year veteran of CB Commercial (now CBRE). She was managing officer of CB Commercial’s downtown office, where she was responsible for business development, operations, management, and community relations efforts.

Enjoy most: Meeting and learning from people in our industry and in the business community and having the opportunity to bid for major events.

Toughest challenge: Hosting the BCS National Championship Game & Gala in 2002, shortly after 9/11. It was a rough time for everyone as no one wanted to travel nor occupy a major open-air stadium.

Proudest moment: Anytime we complete a major event and our guests and clients enjoy a tremendous experience.

Best advice: Your reputation is critical and your relationships are what will make you successful.

Most excited: The new Inglewood stadium that will allow us to go after the biggest and most noteworthy events in the world.

Alma Mater: Bachelor’s, USC

Bucket list: Visiting Villa D’Este.

Beverage: I am addicted to GT Dave’s Kombucha Synergy Trilogy (non-alcoholic).

Hobby/passion: I am an NFL football junkie. Sundays are like a religious holiday at our house during the football season.

Favorite destination: Four Seasons Hualalai.
