Westwood-based 800 Degrees Pizza has replaced Steve Overholt as chief executive less than a year after he was named to the post.
Tommy Lee, former head of Richardson, Texas-based Rockfish Sea Food, will fill the position effective immediately, 800 Degrees said last week in a press release. Overholt became chief executive in June.
A representative of 800 Degrees declined to comment.
Lee will work on the chain’s expansion efforts with executive chef Anthony Carron, who founded the restaurant in 2011, and Chief Development Officer Scott Berkowitz, who was hired along with Overholt in June. Lee will also oversee company operations as well as employee and guest experience.
“Tommy has extensive knowledge in day-to-day restaurant management, and understands the significance of operating efficiency and a guestcentric focus,” Carron said in a statement. “I am confident that his business expertise combined with the quality of our product will elevate the brand to a new level.”
Before Rockfish, Lee was vice president of operations at Brinker International, parent company of Chili’s Grill & Bar and Maggiano’s Little Italy.
Fast-casual 800 Degrees specializes in making Neapolitan pizzas that customers can individually design. The chain has restaurants in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Tokyo, and Dubai, and has plans to expand to Miami and new Middle Eastern cities.
