Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is speaking for the first time at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday in Philadelphia.

In addition to showing his support for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, Garcetti said he will “share the story of Los Angeles as a model for the country,” according to an email sent to his 2017 reelection supporters. Of his achievements under his administration, Garcetti is expected to highlight the citywide law passed in May to increase the minimum wage to $15 an hour.

The “fight for 15” effort across the country has been adopted into the Democratic Party’s platform during the election, having gained support from Sen. Bernie Sanders in addition to Clinton.

Garcetti, who is active on social media, took to Twitter to express his thoughts about Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump before taking the stage in Philadelphia.

“America doesn’t need a political pyromaniac for president,” said Mayor Garcetti. “Donald Trump has no vision for our country.”

Garcetti is expected to speak at 4 p.m. Pacific Time.
