Movie Studios Have Reservations Over Exclusivity

Four major movie studios said they will no longer participate in “clearance” requests from theaters, The Wall Street Journal reports. The practice, which gives some theaters exclusive rights to certain movies in a market, has drawn ire from the Justice Department because smaller theater operators say it allows larger chains to dominate the field.
