Prince movie “Purple Rain” is being re-released following the pop star’s sudden death.
More than 150 theaters across the country will screen the film over the next week, including at least seven in Los Angeles County.
Warner Bros. has been receiving requests for prints of the 1984 film from exhibitors nationwide following the shocking news of his passing yesterday.
Featuring smash hits like “When Doves Cry” and “Let’s Go Crazy,” the film made $68.4 million at the U.S. box office and the title track won Prince his first and only Oscar for best original song.
