Hulu: Santa Monica’s Hulu has launched a new application for the virtual reality headset Samsung Gear. The app gives user access to Hulu’s 2-D streaming library and its 360-degree video content.
TigerText: TigerText of Santa Monica, which makes a messaging platform compliant with health care-related patient privacy laws, has added several new features and a new app. The features include priority messaging and auto-forwarding. The company also launched a desktop application.
Esri: Redlands mapping software company Esri has signed a deal with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service. The USDA will use Esri’s mapping software to run its publicly available Forest Atlas of the United States, which maps forestry data such as lumber areas and wildfire burn patterns.
Tinder: West Hollywood dating app Tinder has added a political candidate match feature, dubbed Swipe the Vote. The feature helps users find candidates that align with their political views.
Guidance Software: Pasadena cyber-forensic company Guidance Software Inc. has launched EnCase Forensic version 7.12. This version delivers deeper support for the Windows 10 operating system as well as the ability to acquire data from Apple desktops and laptops running the El Capitan operating system.
