Labor and Business Groups in L.A. Divide

Labor unions and business groups had been working together to defeat a ballot proposal known as the Neighborhood Integrity Initiative, which is aimed at preventing real estate ¨overdevelopment.¨ But the alliance has come under strain after union leaders revealed they had submitted a competing measure for the Nov. 8 ballot, according to the Los Angeles Times. The new measure puts hiring and affordable housing requirements on real estate projects.
