Freehand, known for transforming office buildings into upscale hostels for budget-but-style minded travelers, announced Wednesday that the James Beard-award winning Broken Shaker Bar will part of the complex opening this fall at Olive and 8th Streets in downtown Los Angeles. It is taking over the Commercial Exchange Building, built in 1924.
The Los Angeles Times’ Daily Dish also reported that Portland chef and author Jenn Louis will be opening an Israeli restaurant in the Freehand.
