The Los Angeles Business Journal’s index of the largest local public companies was up 5 percent for the week to close at 244. Gainers outpaced losers 108 to 41. Six companies closed the week unchanged.
Among stocks trading above a dollar, OSI Systems Inc., a Hawthorne company that develops security and inspections, was the week’s leading gainer. Shares were up 15 percent to close at $95.50.
Skechers, based in Manhattan Beach, was also one of this week’s leading gainers. Shares rose 14 percent to close at $29.03 after a strong day on the markets sent stocks soaring.
Capstone Turbine Corp. was the week’s biggest losing stock among those trading above a dollar. Shares of the company were down 22 percent to close at $1.80.
