Gainers and Losers

MRV Communications Inc. was Thursday’s biggest local gainer. Shares of the Chatsworth telecom equipment and services firm rose 11 percent on the day, closing at $14.53.

Thursday’s biggest loser was Carson aerospace manufacturer Ducommun Inc. Shares of the company fell 22 percent on the day, closing at $18.13 one day after the company released earnings that failed to meet analyst expectations.
