What to Watch this Weekend

Entertainment reporter Sandro Monetti’s business take on this weekend’s new movie releases.

OUR BRAND IS CRISIS – Sandra Bullock stars as an American political consultant short of work at home who accepts an offer to run the campaign of a Bolivian presidential candidate. Soon she is bringing to South America all the hallmarks of a big American campaign: dirty tricks, muckraking and large consultant fees. This Warner Bros. dramedy is inspired by a real incident when strategist James Carville took his talents to South America for the 2002 election in Bolivia.

SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE – When a virus turns the residents of a town into flesh-eating monsters, three resourceful Boy Scouts on a camping trip must prove themselves capable of being the leaders of tomorrow by saving the day and slaughtering the creatures.

TAB HUNTER CONFIDENTIAL – Living a closeted gay life in 1950s Hollywood while dating a string of starlets and being swooned over by girls was just another acting job for the former teen idol. Hunter recalls his experiences being controlled by Hollywood studio chiefs in this documentary.

THE WONDERS – A family of beekeepers see a chance to create buzz – and the big bucks needed to fix up their ramshackle home – by appearing on a reality TV show. Monica Bellucci, who also appears in the upcoming James Bond film “Spectre,” is the star of this Italian indie.
