Former top CBS and Microsoft executive Nancy Tellem has joined Interlude, a media and technology company, as executive chairman and chief media officer.

Tellem, who was both president of CBS Network Television Group and corporate vice president of Microsoft, will work out of the Culver City office of the online storytelling company. Interlude, which is based in New York, also has offices in Tel Aviv.

“We are very fortunate to have someone of her stature to guide our company’s growth,” said Yoni Bloch, Interlude’s founder and chief executive, in a statement.

Backed by Sequoia Capital, Intel Capital, NEA, Marker and Innovation Endeavors, Interlude’s clients include Warner Music Group, Disney, Nickelodeon, Pepsi, Lincoln Motor Company, Shell and L’Oreal.

Among the four-year-old company’s achievements are an inventive music video for Bob Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone,” which reached 70 million views, and a video commemorating the 40th anniversary of Led Zeppelin’s iconic “Physical Graffiti” album.

“(Interlude’s) creative talent and mastery of interactive technology is a game changer,” Tellem said in the statement. “I look forward to extending Interlude’s reach to the entertainment industry by bringing film and television creators on board.”

Before taking the new position, Tellem was president of Microsoft’s Santa Monica Xbox Entertainment Studios, which closed in late 2014.
