Tiger Pistol, an Australian startup that recently relocated its base to Los Angeles, announced it raised $3.1 million late last year to fund its social media marketing platform and further expand into Asia and the United States.
The company uses data analytics to create automated social media advertising campaigns. Its DoItForYou platform targets small businesses that want to manage their online reputation across various social networks, among them Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Yelp. Tiger Pistol said it has seen revenue growth of 20 percent a month over the last year.
“The digital focus to date has been on search and websites and have traditionally had fairly rudimentary social offerings,” said Chief Executive Steve Hibberd in a statement. “As demand for social has grown, and the effectiveness of pure content programs diminished – most particularly on Facebook – these companies are looking for more powerful offerings that can drive genuine growth for their customers.”
The round was led by Australian domain name registrar Melbourne IT and included participation from private investors such as Liberty Financial Chief Executive Sherman Ma.
