SHERMAN OAKS

Cleaning Up: Serviz, an on-demand home-services provider in Sherman Oaks, has received $12.5 million in Series B funding led by Menlo Park’s PointGuard Ventures. Serviz provides an online platform to schedule and pay for handymen, plumbing and electrical work, carpet cleaning and appliance repair. Serviz said the money would go to expanding the company’s services and market reach.

WESTSIDE

VENICE

Digital Deal: Zealot Networks, a recently launched digital media company in Venice, has made its first buy, paying $20 million for a majority stake in Sherman Oaks music licensing firm AudioMicro. AudioMicro’s YouTube monetization platform AdRev helps artists and publishers collect royalties when their copyrighted content is used in a video without authorization. Zealot said that it expects to pursue an even larger stake in the company.

SANTA MONICA

Social Acquisition: Timeline Labs, a Santa Monica social analytics company, has been acquired for $22 million in a cash-and-stock deal, by SeaChange International, an online-video technology business in Acton, Mass. Timeline could receive and additional $2.5 million in performance earn-outs. The company’s content management platform curates local news stories that are trending on social media sites.

REDONDO BEACH

Shopping Center: L.A.’s Trion Properties has purchased a Redondo Beach retail property for $5.8 million from Beverly Hills’ Platinum Equity. The 20,000-square-foot Seaside Village Shopping Center, at 1802-20 S. Pacific Coast Highway, was 55 percent occupied at the time of sale.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES

On Move: Law firm Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, with 275 attorneys the largest in Los Angeles, has signed a lease for new space after a fire damaged its downtown L.A. headquarters at 221 N. Figueroa St. Lewis Brisbois will be moving to 215,000 square feet at the U.S. Bank Tower at 633 W. Fifth St. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Ad Pickup: Social Reality, a downtown L.A. Internet ad firm, has acquired Five Delta, a Santa Monica ad tech company. Five Delta specializes in ad buys across social networks such as Facebook. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

BALDWIN PARK

Retail Plaza: Studio City’s ACF Property Management, Inc. has sold a Baldwin Park retail center for $12.7 million to West L.A.’s Gershman Properties. The 24,250-square-foot Baldwin Park Towne Center, at 14510 Baldwin Park Towne Center, was 100 percent occupied at the time of sale.

SOUTH PASADENA

Winging In: South Pasadena marketing firm Anyone Collective has received a $50,000 contract from the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority to improve awareness of Burbank Bob Hope Airport. The airport has seen a long-term decline in passenger counts as major airlines consolidate operations at big airports, including Los Angeles International.
