Judge Could Decide Fate of Pensions in Bankruptcy

A federal judge is expected to decide today whether to approve a plan to end bankruptcy in the city of Stockton, and that could determine whether the city must continue to pay large public-sector pensions that soon may constitute a fifth of municipal spending, the Los Angeles Times reports.
