Gov. Jerry Brown’s administration has a study claiming his plan to excavate two tunnels to carry water from the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta to Los Angeles and the Central Valley could create an average of 15,500 jobs a year over one decade of work. The $25 billion plan is further forecasted to generate 19,600 jobs a year for half a century. A University of the Pacific professor says the first part of the forecast is realistic, but the long-term job predictions are “ridiculous,” the Los Angeles Times reports.
