Monrovia’s Green Dot Corp. is in the market for a new chief financial officer after John Keatley announced he plans to leave the company by September.

In a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Wednesday, pre-paid card issuer Green Dot said Keatley is moving to Stockholm, Sweden, to work as chief financial officer of a technology company there. The filing notes that Keatley’s wife is from Sweden.

Keatley, who joined Green Dot in 2004 as the company’s director of financial planning, has been CFO since 2006. He plans to resign Sept. 1 and will help recruit a replacement, according to the filing.

Shares closed down 39 cents, or 2 percent, to $16.30 on the New York Stock Exchange.
