Ducommun Inc. on Tuesday said it received a larger contract from Boeing Co. to produce subassemblies and other components for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

The Carson manufacturer did not provide a value for the contract, which will be fulfilled at the company’s Ducommun AeroStructures facility in Coxsackie, N.Y.

The 787 Dreamliner is a mid-size, twin-engine jet airliner that can carry up to 290 passengers while using 20 percent less fuel than comparable airplanes.

Chief Executive Anthony Reardon said in a statement that his company plans to ramp up manufacturing capabilities to support full production volume for the Dreamliner.

Ducommun shares closed up 42 cents, or nearly 3 percent, to $15.65 on the New York Stock Exchange.
