Businessman Meshulam Riklis bought the Riviera Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip for $56 million from Beverly Hills lawyer Harvey L. Silbert and others. The acquisition followed several years of failed attempts by Riklis to enter the Las Vegas market by acquiring the Dunes Hotel.
