VF Corp. has agreed to acquire 7 For All Mankind, the Los Angeles-based premium jean maker, for a reported $775 million.
According to a report in Women’s Wear Daily, the Greensboro, N.C.-based apparel giant also acquired Lucy Active, a Portland, Ore.-based maker of contemporary active wear for women, for $110 million, and plans to combine the two companies into a contemporary brands unit.
7 projects revenues of $300 million this year while Lucy anticipated 2007 revenues of $57 million, Women’s Wear Daily said.
Mike Egeck, who resigned as president of VF’s outdoor line last summer to become chief executive of 7, will return to VF as head of the new unit. Egeck will continue to run 7 and remain in Los Angeles.
