Teamed Up: Four Southern California firms have merged to create Brandmeyer Gilligan Dockstader & Davidson LLP, a Long Beach family law firm. The merging firms were Law Offices of Brandmeyer Stanton & Dockstader, Gilligan Law Corp., the Law and Mediation Offices of Kimberly Davidson and the Law Office of Barbara E. McNamara. The new firm is at One World Trade Center with additional offices in Irvine and Manhattan Beach.

Natural Disaster: Aecom Technology Corp., a downtown L.A.-based technical and management support company, has been awarded a contract worth $16.9 million from the U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency. The contract calls for Aecom to handle repairs to property damaged by an April tornado at the Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas.

In the Game: Mention Mobile, an L.A. developer of social gaming apps, has received a $250,000 investment from billionaire Mark Cuban, owner of the National Basketball Association’s Dallas Mavericks. Mention Mobile, headquartered on Beverly Boulevard near the Grove shopping center, will use the money to develop games tied to Facebook.

Taking Stock: Thousand Oaks biotech giant Amgen Inc. has announced it will buy back $5 billion of its common stock. The auction was scheduled to begin Nov. 8 and conclude Dec. 7, and shares are to be offered between $54 and $60. The move is part of Amgen’s $10 billion buyback plan announced late last month.

Taking Off: Aero View LLC, a Lancaster aerial surveillance company, has received its first contract from its home city. Aero View will outfit a Cessna 172 plane with cameras from a third-party vendor and install a communication link between the craft and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department station in Lancaster. The plane and the equipped technology will cost Lancaster $1.3 million.

GLENDALE
Moving In: Chicago-based General Growth Properties Inc. has lined up New York-based department store chain Bloomingdale’s as an anchor tenant for General Growth’s Glendale Galleria shopping mall. Bloomingdale’s is scheduled to open in fall 2013. The Glendale Galleria earlier this year lost anchor tenant Nordstrom to across-the-street rival Americana at Brand.
Moving Out and In: The Glendale Chamber of Commerce will move its office this month to 701 N. Brand Blvd. The chamber took out at a 10-year lease valued at $500,000 for the new 1,637-square-foot space, down from its 3,500-square-foot office on South Louise Street.
