The Development Corp., at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, is now near the local Small Business Development Center, the Santa Clarita WorkSource Center and the college’s economic development division.

Stocked Up: The Los Angeles Regional Foodbank, a Vernon-based non-profit providing food distribution to more than 900 sites in Los Angeles County, has received a $50,000 donation from San Francisco-based Wells Fargo & Co. The funds will go to helping distribute more food in the county.

Capital Gain: Cereplast Inc., an El Segundo maker of bio-based plastics, has secured $5 million in growth funding from Horizon Technology Finance Corp., a Farmington, Conn.-based tech investment firm. The capital will be used for the purchase of raw materials to create the company’s resin.

Florida Expansion: ValleyCrest Landscape Cos. in Calabasas has acquired two Florida-based landscaping companies. The two pickups are Orlando-based Nanak’s Landscaping and Tampa-based Raymow Enterprises, with a combined 13 locations in the state. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Added Dimension: Stereo Vision Entertainment Inc., a Van Nuys producer of 3-D digital entertainment, has acquired Rezn8, a Hollywood visual effects services firm. Rezn8 was acquired for 20 million shares in Stereo Vision. Rezn8 founder Paul Sidlo will serve as the subsidiary’s chief executive.

Healthy Boost: Capricor Inc., a West Hollywood developer of cardiac therapies based on the company’s proprietary mix of stem cells derived from cardiac tissue, has received $2 million in capital from Broadview Ventures and private individual investors. Capricor intends to begin clinical trials in the United States early this year.

Nailed Down: Lowe’s Cos. Inc., a Mooresville, N.C.-based home improvement retailer, has opened a location in Covina. The new 94,000-square-foot store, at 1348 N. Azusa Ave., will create up to 120 jobs.
