THQ Inc. and World Wrestling Entertainment on Monday said they signed a new marketing agreement that integrates THQ’s branded video games for the professional wrestling promoter into events, pay-per view and television sponsorships and magazines.
The deal includes installation of interactive gaming kiosks featuring the Agoura Hills company’s products at 40 WWE live events. THQ also is developing WWE-branded products for social media, iPad, and iPhone.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
“We expect to increase awareness of our games through this new integrated program,”
Chief Executive Brian Farrell said in a statement. “Beyond that, we are expanding our WWE video game offerings with social applications and brand extensions to help WWE fans enjoy different interactive experiences throughout the year.”
THQ shares were down 3 cents, or less than a percent, to $3.97 in midday trading on the Nasdaq.
