Advanced Sleep Medicine Services Inc., a provider of sleep disorder diagnostics and related medical equipment, has been acquired by a New York private equity firm.

High Road Capital Partners on Wednesday said its acquisition of Los Angeles-based Advanced Sleep was based on the company’s position as the region’s leading provider of sleep diagnostic testing. Its chief executive, Dr. Said Mostafavi, has appeared on the NBC reality show “The Biggest Loser” to help contestants with sleep apnea.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“ASMS is a nationally recognized provider,” said Bill Connell, High Road’s lead partner on the transaction, in a statement. “The company’s excellent leadership team has implemented an efficient operating model, with high service levels.”

Senior debt financing for the transaction, which closed on May 21, was provided by Fifth Third Bank. This is High Road Capital Partners’ fifth transaction for its debut fund, High Road Capital Partners Fund I, LP.
