The Institute of Medicine, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit that provides advice on national health issues, has elected Roger J. Lewis as a member. Lewis, a principal investigator at Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, was elected by the institute’s current members, who recognize “individuals who have made major contributions to the advancement of medical sciences, health care and public health,” according to a statement.
