The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles area fell for the sixth week in a row, slipping 6.5 cents to $2.638 for the week ended Nov. 14.
L.A. prices are 30.8 cents higher than they were a year ago, according to the federal Energy Information Administration.
Statewide, prices dropped 7.7 cents to $2.582 from $2.659 one week earlier, leaving them 27.1 cents higher than year-ago rates. California had the highest-price gas in the nation for the sixth consecutive week.
Los Angeles out-priced San Francisco for the third week to become the most expensive city. San Francisco slipped 8.2 cents to $2.550.
Ohio had the lowest-priced gas of the states surveyed, at $2.137 per gallon, and the city with the cheapest gas was Cleveland, which shed 1.5 cents to $2.176 per gallon.
